A recent study from the Center for Genome Regulation in Barcelona, Spain, demonstrated that a compound catechin (epigallocatechin gallate, EGCG) can improve cognitive function in patients. In a year-long clinical trial, the treatment improved patients' scores on memory and behavioral tests. The results were published in the journal The Lancet Neuroscience. Brain scans revealed that the compound, called catechin, changes the way neurons in the brain connect.
People with Down syndrome may also have problems with cognitive function, such as delayed language development, learning and memory impairment, and difficulty concentrating. EGCG is a complex in green tea. It belongs to a class of antioxidants called polyphenols, which studies have shown to protect the body from cell damage and prevent disease. The researchers found that the EGCG group scored higher on certain aspects of cognitive function, such as ability to recognize and remember, and ability to resist distractions, compared with those who received a placebo.
Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is one of the main components of catechin extracts extracted from green tea. Because catechins have a wide range of health care and pharmacological effects and strong food antioxidant properties, The catechins in tea have become one of the hotspots in the field of medicine and food research in recent years.
Jiangsu Tiansheng Pharmaceutical has rich experience in the research and development of green tea extracts. , epigallocatechin EGC, epicatechin gallate ECG and gallocatechin gallate GCG) products have high yield and good quality, all of which have obvious competitive advantages in the industry.
