People have already learned a lot about the benefits of drinking green tea, such as lowering blood lipids, lowering blood sugar, lowering blood pressure, reducing weight, and anti-cancer and anti-cancer. Lu Yu, a tea saint in the Tang Dynasty, wrote in his book "The Classic of Tea" that "drinking (green tea) for a long time can make people light and not old", indicating that the lipid-lowering effect of tea drinking has long been recognized by the ancients. Recently, the latest research by foreign researchers found that green tea also has an excellent liver protection effect.
At present, there are many varieties of tea on the market, in addition to green tea, there are black tea (fermented tea), oolong tea (semi-fermented tea) and Pu-erh tea (long-term slow-fermented tea). According to animal tests and clinical trials conducted by medical researchers in Japan and the United States, green tea has the most protective effect on the liver among these tea products, because green tea contains the most tea polyphenols (with EGCG as the main component). It is understood that tea polyphenols (especially EGCG) is a strong antioxidant, which can effectively block the damage of free radical oxidants to cells or tissues. The researchers said that green tea can contain up to 32% of tea polyphenols, that is, 32 grams of tea polyphenols per 100 grams of green tea. In fermented tea leaves such as black tea, tea polyphenols will be decomposed during the fermentation process, thereby reducing the content. In addition, medical researchers also found in the survey that people who drink 10 cups of green tea a day generally do not develop viral hepatitis. What's even more amazing is that some people have a family history of hepatitis B, but if they start drinking green tea from an early age, their chances of developing hepatitis B in the future are greatly reduced.
As we all know, the liver has a powerful detoxification function, and people will ingest a lot of natural food toxins through food every day, and drugs and other chemicals that enter the body with food also need to be detoxified by the liver. The human body will also produce a lot of physiological toxins in physiological activities. If there is no detoxification function of the liver, the human body will soon be poisoned. Physiologists discovered as early as the 1950s that there is a mysterious system in the liver called the P450 enzyme system. According to research, this enzyme system is responsible for converting various chemicals into harmless substances that are eventually excreted along with food waste. This is the secret of the liver's detoxification function. Medical researchers have done a lot of work on the P450 enzyme system, and finally determined that two of them, CYP2D6 and CYP3A4, are related enzymes that are specifically responsible for converting chemical toxins in the body into harmless water-soluble substances. Tiansheng Pharmaceutical's research shows that green tea extract (the main component of which is EGCG) can competitively inhibit CYP3A, indicating that the tea polyphenols in green tea can indeed improve the activity of the P450 enzyme system in the liver, so that it can better Play the role of lowering blood lipids, detoxification and weight loss. American medical researchers have also done similar animal experiments. They found that after mice were injected with green tea extracts such as EGCG, the activity of CYP1A1P450 enzyme substances in their "liver microparticles" increased compared with those mice that were not injected with EGCG green tea extract. . This also shows that the effect of green tea (EGCG) on improving liver function is exact.
